Permalink Last night we went to the launch of the Valparaíso Festival de las Artes. The government arts organisation put on a bus, and then when we got there, there was plenty of wine and snacks. It was an “art” event after all. I met with the mayor of Valpo, and I told him that the city needed to build a statue of Chris Watson, the third prime minister of Australia, who was born in Valparaíso.  I think I did my bit for Australia Day.
